The finest vinyl replay leaves nothing between the stylus and the music – and Döhmann Audio is taking that principle to a thrilling new extreme. Making its UK debut at The Happening, Döhmann’s new vacuum hold-down system draws the record firmly and evenly onto the platter, flattening warps, eliminating tiny air gaps and creating an exceptionally stable interface for the stylus to track the groove. The result is a cleaner, more controlled foundation from which to unlock the musical information buried in every record.
Available as an optional upgrade for the current Helix One Mk3 and Helix Two Mk3 turntables, the system can also be retrospectively fitted to previous generations, allowing existing Döhmann owners to experience this latest advance.
The Helix One Mk3 and Helix Two Mk3 are already masterpieces of analogue engineering. Their obsessive approach to vibration control incorporates an isolation system derived from Negative-Stiffness Mechanism technology used by NASA in the development of the James Webb Space Telescope, alongside sophisticated damping, mechanical crossover and precision drive technologies.
The payoff is music of astonishing purity and physical presence: greater focus, richer texture, more convincing space and effortless dynamics. Now, with the new vacuum system, Döhmann pushes that pursuit of analogue perfection further still – bringing vinyl lovers closer than ever to the full emotional and musical reality captured in the groove.
