Franco Serblin needs no introduction to anyone who loves music
reproduced honestly. As the founder of Sonus Faber, he spent a lifetime pursuing a singular
idea, that a loudspeaker should be built like a fine instrument, never merely a box. The
Unica carries that philosophy forward in its truest form.
Every Unica is hand-crafted by master artisans from solid, arch-shaped wood, its rigid structure decoupled with aluminium and magnesium to keep resonance out of the music entirely. At the top sits a 29mm silk dome tweeter by Ragnar Lian, one of the greatest transducer designers alive, refined over thirty years of dedicated work. Below it, a custom 150mm microspheres midwoofer and a pair of 220mm microspheres woofers complete a three-way design engineered for exceptional control, while a phase-coherent crossover preserves the spatial information locked inside every recording.
The Unica is offered in solid walnut, with red and graphite high gloss finishes arriving in 2026. It is, in every sense, a singular speaker, fitting for a design that answers to no one's philosophy but Franco Serblin's own, and a rare chance for visitors at Absolute Sounds Happening to hear his vision continued, in a room of its own bearing his name.
