An unrivalled value-for-money combination: TechDAS Air Force IV, Reed 1H and Analog Relax EX300
It took months and months of listening and research here at Absolute Sounds. Not to assemble the most expensive analogue front end in the world, but to achieve something far harder. A combination of turntable, tonearm and cartridge that is genuinely, uncompromisingly high-end, one that could sit at the heart of any super high-end system in the land and never be the weak link.
It was not an easy task. A great deck, a great arm and a great cartridge are not always great together, and the balance is delicate. But after long trial, and a great deal of listening, we are proud to present the answer: the TechDAS Air Force IV, the new carbon-armed Reed 1H, and the Analog Relax EX300 cartridge.
And the endorsement could not be better. When Hi-Fi News set the Air Force IV beside its dearer sibling, it confessed it could barely tell them apart, and crowned it a dream machine. Every technology that made TechDAS a legend, the air bearing, and the vacuum hold-down that pulls the record flat against the platter, is present in full, in a compact chassis, at a fraction of what the decks above it command.
Turntable, arm and cartridge. Complete, and ready to play, for £25,794. A reference combination, named a dream machine by the home of real hi-fi, for less than a single turntable in the tier above.
Come to Manor Two and hear it for yourself. This is not merely good value. It is unbelievable value.
